 Forever one of the best chilled reds, a step up from Nouveau, Villages level Beaujolais is simple but deliciously juicy and fruity while remaining crisp and dry. Richard Rottiers’ version delivers the purest cherry fruit with crushed violets and just a hint of grippy tannin.

 1006 Vins de Loire ‘Majorelle’ 2022

 By far one of our favourite juicy fruity reds, this 100% old vines Grolleau from Pauline Lair’s urban winery has exceptional depth and complexity but is pure pleasure with a little chill on a hot summer’s night. It’s incredibly perfumed with blackberries, currents, pencil shavings and crispy herbs.

 Domaine de l’Agramante M’Arricriu 2021

 Unfined and unfiltered, this mouthwatering blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Counoise from the Southern Rhône is made by an engineer-turned-winemaker from Sicily. It’s light and fine with a palate of ripe strawberry and liquorish.
