Champ Divin
Gevingey | Jura | France
6 hectares | Certified Organic | Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir
Champ Divin is husband and wife duo, Fabrice and Valerie Closset. Together they farm a total of 6 hectares in the commune of Gevingey, where they have converted their soils to certified organic, and make an impressive line up of wines according to the principles of biodynamic farming.
Their vines are rooted in mostly ancient limestone, and they focus on working with the grapes that are typical to the beloved Jura region - namely Savagnin, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
A great deal of their production goes into their to-die-for Crémant de Jura, which is vintage dated and aged on lees for not much longer than 9 months. This zero dosage sparkler is full of life and energy and makes us really happy! Pass the Comte cheese, please.
As for the rest of the line up, there is this unifying theme of fleshy, generous fruit on the nose, and a tensile backbone of acidity and structure on the palate. Ask us about their Cuvée Pollux if you are looking for a sous voile style - something truly unique.
