1006 Le Chai Urbain de Vins de Loire 

“The Loire River runs 1006 kilometres from its source to the ocean, from grapes to glass 1006 crafts natural wines in its urban winery in Angers reflecting terroirs from the Loire valley”.

The focus with 1006 is not only showcasing Loire terroir but also grapes varieties that are typical of the Loire and also curating long-term relationships with growers who employ organic and environmentally friendly practices in the vineyards. Pauline then crafts wines that are approachable and pure with a very natural approach, using native yeasts and minimal use of sulphur.

2021 Camaïeu (Rosé Pet Nat)

Easy drinking blend of Grolleau Gris and Pineau d'Aunis. Light and refreshing pet nat with notes of raspberry and cranberry.

2022 Smalt (Sauvignon Blanc - White)

Thirty-year-old-vine Controis-en-Sologne, Touraine fruit. Clay soils on limestone bedrock with oceanic influence. Hand picked grapes, slow pressing, spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, 9 months in vat. A summer wine with an exotic, floral nose and a fresh, fruity palate, perfect for pairing with inventive cuisine. An interesting alternative to the usual Sauvignon.

2022 Marine (Melon de Bourgogne - White)

A single Muscadet plot on silt and quartz over micaschist, from forty-year-old vines.

Manual harvest, slow pressing, spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, six months on lees in vat. Saline, precise, built for oysters and shellfish. This is the wine for anyone doing a raw bar or seafood-forward summer menu.
